What Is the CCDV-F Exam?
The Claude Certified Developer, Foundations exam (CCDV-F) is Anthropic's certification for developers who build, integrate and ship applications, agents and workflows on Claude. Section 5 of the exam guide sets 53 items in 120 minutes, a mix of multiple-choice and multiple-response items, and a scaled passing score of 720 on a scale of 100 to 1,000. Section 6 spreads the items across eight domains and 25 weighted skills.
Our mock exam follows that shape: 53 questions in 120 minutes, drawn from our own 400-question bank at the guide's domain quotas. The questions are written from the published exam guide and Anthropic's documentation. They are not exam content, and CCA Practice Platforms is an independent exam-preparation site, not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.

The Eight CCDV-F Exam Domains
Each mock draws a fixed number of questions per domain, so the mix follows the weights in Section 6 of the exam guide. Of the 400 questions in the bank, 44 are multiple-response.
1. Agents and Workflows (14.7%): 8 questions per mock
Workflows versus agents, manager and supervisor hierarchies, subagents, the Claude Agent SDK, custom agent loops and harnesses, and hooks.
2. Applications and Integration (33.1%): 17 questions per mock
Messages, tools, streaming, vision, thinking, caching and batch use in the Claude API; application design; software engineering foundations; configuration management; requirements and the systems life cycle.
3. Claude Code (3.1%): 2 questions per mock
Rules, Skills, Commands, Agents and Agent Memory; session management, slash commands and headless mode; the CLAUDE.md hierarchy and settings.json.
4. Eval, Testing, and Debugging (2.6%): 1 question per mock
Identifying error types, choosing a recovery strategy, reading traces, and isolating whether a problem comes from the integration layer or the model output.
5. Model Selection and Optimization (16.8%): 9 questions per mock
Tokens, context windows, sampling and non-determinism; extended thinking and effort levels; prompting strategies; model tiers, cost and token management.
6. Prompt and Context Engineering (11.0%): 6 questions per mock
Instruction clarity, few-shot examples, system versus user placement, output constraints and input sanitization; context window management and output handling.
7. Security and Safety (8.1%): 4 questions per mock
Prompt injection and jailbreak defense, untrusted input, data leakage and PII; guardrail layering, least privilege, secrets and key management, and Claude hooks.
8. Tools and MCPs (10.6%): 6 questions per mock
Function calling, tool descriptions and error handling, client-side versus server-side tools and approval patterns; MCP server development, resources, tools and prompts.

How the Mock Exam Works
Every attempt draws a new set of 53 questions at the quotas above, so a retake is never the same test. Each multiple-response item states how many responses to select, as the exam guide describes the format.
When you finish you see your score with a breakdown by domain, and every question's explanation covers the correct answer and why each other option is wrong, naming the documentation it is based on. Attempts are unlimited.
Additional Practice Modes
Beyond the full mock, the Developer tab of the practice dashboard offers shorter sessions. Enrolled users draw from the whole 400-question bank; the free modes draw from a fixed 28-question sample of it:
- Quick Sprint: 10 questions in 23 minutes; free without an account, from the 28-question sample
- Focused Session: 20 questions in 46 minutes, drawn at random from all 400 questions; the first five need no account and come from the 28-question sample
- Deep Practice: 30 questions in 68 minutes, drawn at random from all 400 questions across all eight domains
- Domain Drill: a session on a single domain, timed at the mock exam's pace
